Brixham AFC

Brixham Football Club was formed in June 2012 through the successful merger of South Devon League clubs Brixham United and Brixham Villa. Both predecessor clubs brought their own history of achievement, with Brixham Villa having won the South Devon League in the 2006–07 season, and Brixham United having previously competed in the prestigious Western Football League and FA Vase during the late 1970s, showcasing a legacy of higher-level competition.

After a strong runner-up finish in the South Devon League, the newly formed Brixham AFC joined the South West Peninsula League Division One East in 2014, consistently performing well and finishing third in 2018–19. This solid performance led to a successful application for promotion to the Premier Division East, a significant step up to Step 6 of the National League System. To meet the requirements of this promotion, the club successfully installed floodlights, playing their first match under them with a triumphant 2–1 win over Bovey Tracey in September 2019. The 2022/23 season proved to be a remarkable period for Brixham, as they achieved their greatest FA Vase run, reaching the last 16. Their league campaign was nothing short of spectacular, culminating in an impressive 19 consecutive victories from mid-December 2022 to their final win against Holsworthy FC, demonstrating exceptional form and determination.
