About Portishead Town FC.
Portishead Town Football Club, originally known as St. Peter's Portishead, has a proud and extensive history of triumph. After joining the Somerset County League in 1975, they established a dominant period, securing the Premier Division title an impressive four times in five years between 1993–94 and 1997–98. Their consistent high performance led to a successful application for promotion to the Western League in 2005. In their first season in the Western League, they finished in the top half, further improving in 2006–07 to achieve their then-highest ever finish as runners-up to Truro City.
The club continued its winning trajectory into recent years. The 2023–24 season saw Portishead Town crowned champions of Western League Division One in spectacular fashion, securing the title with a resounding 8–0 victory over Gillingham Town. This success paved the way for their promotion to the Premier Division. The following season marked a significant milestone with the total redevelopment of their Bristol Road ground, including the installation of a state-of-the-art artificial playing surface. Their return to their redeveloped home on November 16 was celebrated with a 3-0 win, drawing a record-breaking crowd of 579 fans. This record was further shattered on February 25, when an astonishing 1045 spectators watched them defeat local rivals Clevedon Town, demonstrating the club's growing appeal and the success of their modern facilities.
