We’re Back! NBL1 West Indigenous Round Returns to Albany!
The Albany Basketball Association is thrilled to welcome the community back a second game of state league basketball in Albany!
We’re returning to the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre for the NBL1 West Indigenous Round, and the excitement is bigger than ever. After an incredible first showing, we can’t wait to see familiar faces and new ones join us as we celebrate elite basketball and the rich culture and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Event Highlights:
- State Basketball Action: The Perth Redbacks take on the Perry Lakes Hawks in both men’s and women’s matches, expect a seriously competitive night of basketball.
- Cultural Celebration: A Welcome to Country, traditional performances, and more as we honour the stories and spirit of our First Nations community.
- Special Edition Merchandise: Both teams will sport uniquely designed Indigenous-themed jerseys, featuring symbols and stories from Menang Country.
- Family-Friendly Atmosphere: A fantastic night out for everyone, with activities and entertainment throughout.

FAQs
Conditions of Entry
- Patrons entering the event must have a valid ticket and must have their ticket scanned at the dedicated entrances.
- Patrons are not permitted to bring any basketballs into the venue.
- No backpacks or bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper are permitted in the venue.
- Patrons are not permitted to have prams in the Grandstand due to safety concerns. Please see a staff member to be advised as to where the pram can be left safely.
- Patrons are not permitted to bring in external food and drink.
- Patrons are not permitted to bring in external alcohol.
- Any alcohol purchased must be consumed at the venue and may not be taken outside of the licensed areas.
- Ticketing and Security Staff reserve the right to search bags.
- No musical instruments or artificial noise making devices (e.g. vuvuzela, drums) are permitted in the venue.
- Pass-outs for the event will only be given with a valid reason (e.g. to attend a domestic game, to go to the car, to smoke outside, etc.). Each individual that leaves the venue will require a pass-out card to re-enter.
- Children that require a pass-out to re-enter the event will only receive one with adult supervision and accompaniment.
- Specific designated areas in the stadium are licensed. All children must be under adult supervision at all times.
- Children under 18 years old will not be allowed to enter without adult supervision.
- Cash will not be permitted at the venue for purchase of any food, drink or merch item.

- During the player introductions there will be lasers, strobes, and lighting effects used. Anyone who may suffer adverse reactions to such lighting effects is forewarned and advised to leave the immediate area during this time.
- Throughout the game there may be periods of loud noise. This may include music, court announcers, and general crowd cheering and yelling. Anyone who may suffer adverse reactions to, or is sensitive to such noises is forewarned and advised to take the appropriate precautions – earplugs etc.
