This Round 1 clash between South Hobart FC and Wollongong Wolves is steeped in historical resonance. The late 1970s and early 1980s saw the birth of national club football in Australia – and our very own Ken Morton was at the forefront, coaching the inaugural Wollongong NSL squad. Decades later, he modernised South Hobart FC and led the club through a golden era that included national finals and FFA Cup campaigns. As the two clubs meet for the first time on the national stage, the legacy of one of Australian football's true pioneers lives on.
