Toneshifterz, born Elie Abwi, is a legendary figure in the global Hard Dance and Hardstyle scene and one of Australia’s most influential electronic music exports. With a career spanning over 15 years, he’s widely recognised as the heavyweight ambassador of Australian Hardstyle, performing on the world’s biggest stages and helping elevate the harder styles of dance music across continents.

Originally emerging in 2009 as part of a production duo, Toneshifterz quickly made waves with early hits like “Jaydee”and “Empire of the Sun”, earning support from key artists and becoming synonymous with high-energy, euphoric, and hard-hitting soundscapes. In 2011 he released his debut album Till Daybreak Meets and went on to produce official festival anthems, including Psychedelic Wasteland and Dragonblood for Defqon.1. Today he continues to define his signature style with a blend of classic hardstyle energy and modern hard techno influences.

Across a career that has seen him smash audiences at Defqon.1, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Decibel, Airbeat1, I AM HARDSTYLE and more, he’s also collaborated with some of the scene’s biggest names — from Darren Styles to Will Sparks, Twin Tigerz, and S-Dee — consistently pushing boundaries and uniting crowds with his versatile sets and genre-blending productions.

In 2025, Toneshifterz delivered one of his most important moments to date: he was hand-picked to create the official anthem for Knockout Outdoor, Harder Styles United — a cinematic, hard-driving track written as a manifesto for the misfits of the harder styles and a tribute to the underground roots of the Australian Hard Dance culture.

That year he also brought the energy to the Knockout Outdoor 2025 “Return of the Circuz” main stage in Sydney, performing a standout set featuring his anthem with custom visuals and a full light show — a highlight of the festival and a proud homecoming for the Sydney-born artist on what’s become Australia’s biggest Hardstyle event. Fans on social platforms called his set one of the most energetic and memorable of the day, praising his connection with the crowd and dynamic track selection.
